FirstSourceTeam MCP tools and what they return
The FirstSourceTeam MCP server has eight read-only tools - program stats, launch groups, trend, published benchmarks, cost summary, invoices, account overview and plans. Each returns aggregate numbers for your own organization, with definitions and notes, and never a participant's name or status.
The FirstSourceTeam MCP server gives your AI assistant eight read-only tools, and every one returns aggregate figures for your own organization: counts, rates, medians, money and dates, never a participant's name, contact details or individual status. Your assistant picks the tool; you ask in plain language.
Available once your administrator connects it. See Connect FirstSourceTeam to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot.
Every answer also includes your organization's name, the time the figures were read (asOf),
definitions of each figure, and notes on anything not tracked or hidden. Counts of 1 to 4 people
come back as hidden (null, suppressed: true); see Privacy.
Tools
| Tool | Ask it | What it returns |
|---|---|---|
get_program_stats | "How's engagement on the March group?" | The funnel: added, invited, not invited yet, not started, activated, still searching, placed, declined, expired. Activation, placement and decline rates. Median days to first contact and to placement. Optionally broken down by launch group or plan, or for one launch group or plan. |
list_cohorts | "Which launch groups do we have?" | Each launch group's key, name and number of participants. Groups under 5 people are combined into "Other (combined)". |
get_program_trend | "How many people started each month this year?" | Counts per month or quarter for the last 3 to 24 months: added, invited, activated, placed or declined. |
get_benchmarks | "How does our engagement compare?" | The published figures FirstSourceTeam cites on its website, each with its source link and definition caveat, next to your own activation and placement rates. |
get_cost_summary | "What have we paid, and what's still owed?" | Settled charges to date and this month, refunds, decline fees kept, processing fees, outstanding and overdue invoice balances, draft invoices, credit balance, seats bought, used and remaining by plan, seats still inside the decline window and the most that could be refunded, contract dates, payment method type. |
list_invoices | "Show our open invoices." | Invoice number, dates, status, amount due, paid and remaining. Each links to the portal billing page. |
get_account_overview | "Who's on our account?" (counts only) | Organization name, setup status, default plan, your role, number of HR teammates and pending teammate invitations, how many participants haven't been sent their invitation, contract dates, portal links. |
get_plans | "What does the Leader plan include?" | Each plan's price per participant, coaching hours, length and audience, and what every plan includes. |
Program figures
| Figure | Definition |
|---|---|
Added (created) | Participants your organization has added. |
| Invited | Participants sent the invitation email. |
| Not started | Status Scheduled or Contacted. |
| Activated | Status Engaged or Completed. |
| Still searching | Status Engaged. |
| Placed | Status Completed. |
| Declined | Status Declined, through the participant's decline link. |
| Expired | Status Expired (removed from the program). |
| Activation rate | Activated ÷ (added − declined). |
| Portal activation rate | Activated ÷ added. This matches the portal dashboard. |
| Placement rate | Placed ÷ activated. |
| Decline rate | Declined ÷ added. |
| Days to first contact | Median days from the invitation email (or the date added) to the first change to Contacted or Engaged. |
| Days to placement | Median days from service start to Completed. |
Rates are percentages with one decimal. A launch group is the group HR sets when adding participants; people without one are in "No launch group". See Participant statuses.
Money figures
All amounts are US dollars, given in cents and formatted (for example $1,445.00).
- Paid figures count settled seat charges only: a pending ACH payment or an unpaid invoice isn't paid yet.
- Outstanding, overdue, drafts and credit come from your Stripe billing account. If Stripe can't be reached, those figures are missing and a note says so.
- Not tracked: contracted commitments (annual minimums, prepaid blocks) and renewal dates beyond the contract end date. These come back empty with a note; nothing is estimated.
- Refund figures are hidden while fewer than 5 refunds have been made, because each refund is one person who declined.
- Seats are counted only for organizations that buy seats in the portal.
- Invoice links always point to the portal billing page. Stripe's own invoice and PDF links work for anyone who has them, so they're never sent to an AI assistant.
What the tools never do
- Return a participant's name, email, phone, job title, ID, notes or individual status.
- Answer "who" questions. The assistant is told to point you to the employer portal instead.
- Accept a date range, search text or an organization ID. Filters are fixed buckets: a launch group key, a plan, a month count.
- Change anything. There are no write tools.
